Helping Us to Help Each Other
We want everyone involved.
Our next Volunteering Day is Tuesday 15th April.
Weather permitting we will be working outside clearing unsuitable plants etc and moving some paving slabs ready for groundwork in a new sensory garden.
If that sounds like something you could help with please get in touch.
We will also be decorating a classroom or 2 and would welcome the help with this too.
Lunch and soft drinks will be supplied on the day for volunteers.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy emphasizes a company’s commitment to ethical practices, environmental protection, and community support. It outlines efforts to give back, ensuring compliance with laws, promoting human rights, and proactively supporting community initiatives, environmental conservation, and educational programs.
Does your company have a CSR Policy? Are you looking to volunteer on an ad hoc basis?
We are happy to be considered when you are making decisions about volunteering as part of your policy. As you will know school budgets are very tight and we have a small cohort of students. Unfortunately we are unable to welcome volunteers during the normal school day at this stage.
We have various projects which we need help with mostly during school holidays. Please contact the school office 01708 341800 and ask for the Business Manager – Deirdre Conway for further information.
We would love help with gardening, painting and decorating and jet-washing. We have a rolling program for redecorating our classrooms and outdoor equipment.
Do you have skills in finance or Health and Safety and can commit to 6 meetings a year and a few school visits? If so then maybe a Governor role could be for you.
Do you know people with the skills to help design or paint a mural for our pool side?
Does your company have off cuts, overstock or old range products that might be of use for us to recycle or repurpose? Please let us know so that they do not go to landfill unnecessarily.
We would like to thank some of those companies and individuals who have helped us over the last year in whatever way they could.
Tesco gave us lots of craft supplies and wrapping paper. We used these to create displays and art works throughout the year.
Taylor Made who have adjusted their working times and are working overnight to avoid disrupting our students.
Aico sent a team to help decorate corridors during the Summer.
We would also like to thank all of the staff who have given many extra hours to support the school.
Our Supporters
At Lime Academy Ravensbourne we are very grateful for our supporters and the different ways they help us.
Christmas Lights 2023 & 2024
2024
One of our learners’ family have been supporting us to raise money for this project, by decorating their house with Christmas lights 2024.
This year they raised £27,000 which is amazing. Thank you to the Grange family and everyone who visited and donated we are all thrilled by the generosity. People came from far and wide, some from as far away as Denmark. The display was highlighted on Good Morning TV with a live weather broadcast.
2023
Thank you to everyone who has donated so generously and thank you especially to the Grange family who decorated their house for Christmas 2023 and brought in the donations.
We are now developing our outdoor sensory tunnel for our learners with severe learning needs and many who are non-verbal and have limited mobility.
Our current tunnel was really basic and learners were not using it as much as we would have liked.
The sensory tunnel will really benefit our learners as we can display different sensory materials. We are hoping to have different textures displayed, for those who want to use their hands to touch. Different lights displayed, so they can look around at the different colour lights using natural sunlight.
For those who like to listen to sounds, we are hoping to have different sounds available and for our smell sense, we would love to have different plants for the learners to smell. The tunnel will be wheelchair friendly, so all learners can access the available features.
We are expanding the project thanks to the fantastic total raised, including improvements to other outside spaces too.
Painting and Decorating
Thank you to parents who joined us to help decorate parts of the school after the heating installation.
We appreciate the effort and time that you spared on the hottest days of the year.
Thank you Nicola, Kevin and Mark, hopefully you enjoyed yourselves and had a chance to meet and chat over lunch.
Thank you also to Dominic out IT Strategic Lead who also gave up some days off to held decorate.
Fundraising
This year we are very grateful ,once again, to the Grange family who donated all the funds raised by their Christmas Lights.
Designer Contracts generously donated lots of prizes for the Christmas Raffle.
We have been supported by Tesco who have donated craft supplies and raffle prizes.
We want to thank all the staff, families and those in the local community for the hard work which went in to making the Christmas Bazaar such a success.
The Grotto and visit to Santa were well received by school and local families. Thank you to everyone who helped.
Nisa and Making a Difference Locally have donated £850 towards upgrading our pool environment
