November 2023

Carlette Londjoka our new Family Support Worker wanted to introduce herself to everyone.

“Our first coffee morning  since the pandemic was off to a great start

It was such a success and very well attended. Thank you very much to all the parents/carers

who came along, I really enjoyed meeting you all and sharing ideas with you. I was delighted

to see how you were all open, honest and helped one another out, whether it was through

your advice or just sharing your story with us.

Some of the comments said about the day were

“It felt like a family” another said “It was good to get some ideas from the other parents” and

Another said “ When is the next one?”

It is important for us as a school to support our learners and their parents/carers as much as we can,

to continue working in partnership and maintaining a positive relationship. I have heard

some of your concerns and going forward, I would like to invite various specialists from other departments

to come and have a chat with yourselves and maybe answer some of your questions.

We will be holding a coffee morning once every half term and so if you are free,

please do come along. If you have any ideas please feel free to call or

send me an email as we are always open to suggestions.”

The Coffee Morning on 20th May was about Sleep delivered by Karen Riley from the 0-5 CAD Team

One of the parents who came along sent this message later

"Hi Carlette,

I would just like to say thank you for the coffee morning today. You do put a lot of work into them and it is appreciated by us all. Please pass on thanks to Karen as well. I did like the new sign in much quicker and easier for the likes of me who's not great with these thing's!

Looking forward to the next one!

Claire"

Our next Coffee Morning is on the 20th June and all parents are welcome.  Please let Carlette know beforehand that you are coming  if you can.

The Speaker will be Jenne our Sensory Occupational Therapist.
